Cybersecurity Teaching Expert

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential education technology organization seeking a Cybersecurity Teaching Expert to guide learners through a structured cybersecurity program. In this role, you will:

• Lead a cohort of students throughout a cybersecurity curriculum, sharing your industry expertise and practical knowledge
• Deliver biweekly project-focused webinars that guide students in applying cybersecurity concepts to real-world scenarios
• Review student projects and provide detailed, constructive feedback within 24 hours of submission (requires partial weekend availability)
• Conduct on-demand 1:1 mentoring sessions focused on helping students overcome technical challenges and stay motivated
• Respond to project-related questions in community channels, helping students troubleshoot issues and deepen their understanding of cybersecurity practices
• Serve as the primary technical expert and mentor, supporting students as they develop their projects and strengthen their cybersecurity skills

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a cybersecurity professional with at least 3 years of hands-on experience and expertise in the following areas:

• Network & Architecture: Understanding of flat vs. segmented networks, DMZ concepts, and strategies to reduce attack surface and blast radius
• Authentication & Access Abuse: Knowledge of risks related to privileged access, RDP usage, and suspicious data exports
• Incident Analysis: Ability to investigate events such as failed login attempts, password resets, and suspicious account activity using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK
• Log Analysis: Experience analyzing system and security logs to detect anomalies or suspicious behaviors
• Python Scripting: Ability to write scripts that process logs, count events, and extract useful information
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to beginners
• Patience and empathy when supporting students who are new to cybersecurity
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher
• Spanish fluency for working with students in Peru

Pay
