About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential content marketing agency seeking a Senior Content Marketer with deep SEO expertise. This is a writing-first role where approximately 70% of your time will be spent researching and writing high-quality content that performs in search—blog posts, guides, and landing pages that satisfy search intent while maintaining editorial excellence.

You'll also ensure content quality across client accounts by managing freelance writers, reviewing all deliverables, and maintaining editorial standards. This role sits at the intersection of traditional SEO and emerging AI-powered search, including optimizing content for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews.

Responsibilities

• Write publication-ready content optimized for search, integrating keyword research, search intent, and on-page best practices while maintaining authentic voice and quality
• Conduct final review of all content before client delivery, whether self-written, freelance-produced, or AI-assisted
• Refresh and optimize existing content to improve rankings, engagement, and visibility across traditional search engines and AI discovery tools
• Diagnose content performance issues using GA4, Google Search Console, and Ahrefs, then recommend clear, prioritized improvements
• Manage freelance writers on assigned accounts, creating effective briefs and maintaining brand guides and reference materials
• Implement client feedback thoroughly and maintain detailed records to ensure consistency
• Communicate directly with clients regarding deliverables, timelines, and revisions, participating in calls as a trusted content advisor
• Contribute to AI-assisted content workflow improvements through hands-on use and feedback
• Support performance reporting to demonstrate content impact and strategic insights
• Participate in team knowledge-sharing and internal initiatives

What We're Looking For

• 4–6 years of content marketing experience, with at least 2 years in B2B SaaS (agency experience is a plus)
• Exceptional writing ability with capacity to produce publication-ready content requiring minimal revisions
• Strong editorial judgment to evaluate others' work and identify quality issues before client review
• Deep SEO knowledge including keyword research, on-page optimization, content audits, and competitive analysis
• Growing expertise in AI-driven search (AEO) and optimizing content for AI tool visibility
• Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Clearscope
• Experience briefing, editing, or managing freelance writers or team members
• Excellent client communication skills with ability to build trust through quality and reliability
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts, contributors, and deadlines simultaneously
• Responsible use of AI tools to support workflow, with ability to edit AI-assisted drafts to publication quality
• Technical curiosity and genuine interest in understanding software products to write with authority
• Ownership mindset with adaptability to navigate ambiguity and proactively address challenges

Working Arrangements

Location: Fully remote (Americas or EMEA)

Timezone Requirements: At least 4 hours of overlap with US timezones (EST/PST) for effective team and client collaboration

Pay

The client offers compensation of $70,000–$85,000 USD annually, with placement based on experience and skills. This is the direct compensation from the client.
