EVENT CATERING WAIT STAFF (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Position Summary

Compass Group, North America operates the catering services at BGSU and is seeking reliable, service-minded professionals to deliver exceptional guest experiences at university events and functions. As Event Catering Wait Staff, you'll be the face of our catering team—greeting attendees, ensuring smooth meal service, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality at every event.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests with professionalism and attention to detail
• Set up and break down dining areas, tables, and service stations according to event specifications
• Clear plates, glassware, and tableware promptly and efficiently
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address requests or concerns with courtesy
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout service periods
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and event organizers to ensure seamless service flow
• Work flexible shifts aligned with event schedules and business needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Event catering or food service experience a plus—but we'll train the right candidate
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Teamwork mindset and reliability
