Principal Scientist, Lab Head, Integrative Neuroscience

Sanofi is recruiting an accomplished Principal Scientist and Lab Head to establish and direct a research laboratory specializing in Integrative Neuroscience. Located in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts, this full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a team of scientists in creating innovative therapeutic solutions for neurological conditions.

The Opportunity

As Laboratory Head in our Integrative Neuroscience group, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team while championing research initiatives aimed at discovering treatments for neurological diseases. Your purview will include guiding fundamental research programs, with particular emphasis on RNA-based therapeutic modalities. You'll navigate the transition from bench science to clinical development, shaping our portfolio of promising programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct team activities and scientific strategy for the neuroscience laboratory
• Conduct and oversee exploratory research to uncover disease targets
• Progress novel compounds and approaches toward preclinical and clinical advancement
• Interface with collaborators across medicinal chemistry, preclinical development, and regulatory affairs
• Communicate laboratory progress and strategic plans to organizational leadership

What We're Looking For

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in neuroscience, molecular biology, or related field
• Substantial background in academic or industry neuroscience research
• Evidence of success as a manager or team leader in research environments
• Familiarity with RNA-targeting or nucleic acid therapeutic modalities
• Success in converting basic research into therapeutic development pipelines
• Strong analytical and interpersonal communication abilities
