Role Overview

As a Border Patrol Agent, you'll enforce federal immigration and customs laws at one of the most important operational boundaries in the country. This is an experienced-level position (GL-9 GS-11) designed for candidates with established law enforcement backgrounds who are ready to advance their careers with a federal agency. Key Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor border areas to detect and prevent illegal immigration and smuggling operations
• Conduct interviews, inspections, and investigations of individuals attempting to enter or leave the United States
• Operate and maintain surveillance equipment and communication systems
• Prepare detailed reports and testify in legal proceedings as needed
• Work collaboratively with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
• Maintain high standards of physical fitness, tactical readiness, and officer safety

What You Bring

• Valid law enforcement officer (LEO) experience with a prior federal, state, or local agency
• U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
• Pass a thorough background investigation and security clearance process
• Vision and hearing meeting federal standards
• Physical fitness and ability to perform duties in diverse weather and terrain conditions
• Strong communication and decision-making skills under pressure
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
