Director of Nursing

Position Summary

As Director of Nursing, you'll provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the nursing department, guiding clinical staff to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. You'll champion a culture of professional development, clinical excellence, and evidence-based practice while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This leadership role is essential to advancing our mission of accessible, high-quality healthcare in Mankato and the surrounding Blue Earth County region.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, professional growth, and licensure compliance
• Develop and implement nursing protocols, clinical standards, and quality improvement initiatives
• Manage departmental budget, staffing levels, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that attracts and retains nursing talent
• Monitor and respond to patient safety concerns and clinical incidents
• Champion professional development and continuing education for the nursing team

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license in Minnesota with active, unencumbered status
• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Management preferred
• 5+ years of nursing experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Demonstrated expertise in nursing staff development, clinical protocols, and quality improvement
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards and compliance requirements
• Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care and community health
