Clinical Manager (MCP)

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Clinical Manager (MCP) to lead operational excellence and staff coordination at one of our physician practice offices serving the rural health network across South Carolina.

Position Summary

As Clinical Manager for MUSC Community Physicians, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of a physician practice office or multi-office setting, ensuring seamless patient care delivery and efficient administrative workflows. This full-time role bridges clinical excellence and business operations, positioning you to make a direct impact on healthcare access in rural South Carolina communities. You'll manage scheduling, staffing, compliance, and patient experience—all while supporting our physicians in delivering quality care to underserved populations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supervise clinical and administrative staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Manage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and clinical workflows to optimize practice efficiency
• Oversee financial operations, including billing, collections, and budget adherence at the practice level
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and MUSC policies
• Coordinate with physicians to identify operational improvements and implement solutions
• Monitor quality metrics and patient satisfaction to maintain high standards of care
• Manage medical supplies, inventory, and vendor relationships

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience in medical practice management, clinic operations, or healthcare administration
• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
• Solid understanding of healthcare compliance, billing, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with medical office software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven healthcare environment
• Bachelor's degree preferred; healthcare management certification a plus
