Medical University of South Carolina seeks a dedicated part-time Radiology Student Transporter to support patient care and clinical operations in our Department of Radiology. This role offers valuable hands-on experience for students pursuing a career in radiologic technology.
About the Role
As a Radiology Student Transporter, you will serve as an essential member of the radiology team, providing direct patient support and operational assistance. This position is designed for students currently enrolled in a radiologic technology program, offering real-world exposure to imaging departments and healthcare workflows while maintaining a flexible, part-time schedule.
What You'll Do
- Transport patients safely to and from radiology imaging areas and examination rooms
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Department of Radiology
- Assist with patient comfort, positioning, and communication during procedures
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas to ensure efficient operations
- Support registered Radiologic Technologists with patient care activities
- Perform radiographic procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist, as appropriate and when deemed competent
- Respond to requests from radiology staff to facilitate seamless patient flow
What We're Looking For
- Current enrollment in an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Current CPR certification
- Physical ability to safely assist and transport patients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient care and safety
- Ability to work a flexible, part-time schedule
- Willingness to learn and collaborate with healthcare professionals
