CT Tech – Inpatient

Community Health Systems is seeking a CT Tech - Inpatient to join our inpatient imaging team in Akin, Bulloch County.

About the Role

As an inpatient CT Tech, you will perform diagnostic computed tomography examinations for hospitalized patients, working closely with physicians and radiology staff to support timely and accurate patient care.

What You'll Do

• Prepare patients for CT procedures, explain the process, and address any concerns
• Position patients correctly and select appropriate scan protocols based on clinical indications
• Operate CT scanners, monitor patient safety throughout the exam, and adjust technical factors as needed
• Assess image quality, ensure diagnostic adequacy, and repeat scans when necessary
• Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and maintain scanner cleanliness
• Adhere to radiation safety policies, ALARA principles, and institutional safety guidelines
• Document procedures accurately in the electronic health record and PACS system
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to prioritize urgent studies
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment when required
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities

What We're Looking For

• ARRT (R) certification in computed tomography (CT)
• Valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as a CT technologist in Georgia
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Prior experience in an inpatient or acute care hospital setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and care teams
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient‑centered imaging services
• Familiarity with DICOM, PACS, and RIS workflows
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous learning
