Medical Assistant – Marco Island Urgent Care Clinic

Community Health Systems is seeking a Medical Assistant – Marco Island Urgent Care Clinic to join our full‑time team in Golden Gate, Collier County.

About the Role

In this position you will support clinical staff in a fast‑paced urgent care environment, helping to deliver efficient, compassionate care to patients of all ages. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a safe, organized clinic.

What You'll Do

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are stocked and sanitized
• Greet patients, verify personal information, and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration
• Assist providers during procedures, including wound care, suturing, and specimen collection
• Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., rapid strep, urine dipstick) and prepare specimens for off‑site analysis
• Update electronic health records with accurate patient data, visit summaries, and physician orders
• Provide patient education on medications, follow‑up instructions, and preventive health topics
• Handle front‑desk tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments, processing co‑pays, and managing phone inquiries
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations through proper documentation and infection control practices

What We're Looking For

• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain certification
• Experience in a clinical setting, preferably urgent care, primary care, or emergency department
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard office software
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patient populations
• Detail‑oriented mindset and the capacity to multitask while maintaining accuracy under pressure
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and common urgent care procedures
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate equipment as required
