About the Role
As a Medical Assistant at our Winona Lake urgent care facility, you'll be the bridge between patients and our clinical team. You'll support physicians and nurse practitioners while delivering direct patient care in a high-volume setting where your efficiency and compassion make a real difference every shift.
What You'll Do
- Record patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints with accuracy
- Prepare exam rooms and patients for provider evaluation
- Assist with minor procedures, injections, and specimen collection
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other point-of-care testing as directed
- Document clinical findings and care provided in the electronic health record
- Manage patient flow, scheduling, and check-in processes
- Maintain inventory and sterilize equipment per clinical protocols
- Answer phones, route communications, and respond to patient inquiries professionally
What We're Looking For
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or state equivalent) or equivalent clinical training
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of urgent care procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients simultaneously
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability including evenings and weekends
