Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant

Tenet Healthcare is hiring a Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant for a full-time position in Clint, El Paso County. This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with surgeons to deliver essential surgical support and contribute to exceptional patient care.

About the Role

As a Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant at our Clint location, you'll be an integral part of the surgical team, assisting the surgeon in the operating room and performing critical technical tasks that require specialized training and expertise. This full-time position involves rotating shifts typical of healthcare operating room environments.

What You'll Do

• Assist surgeons with tissue exposure and optimal visualization of the surgical field
• Manage hemostasis, using appropriate techniques to control bleeding and maintain a clear operative area
• Support wound closure and other intraoperative technical functions essential to surgical success
• Perform specialized first assistant duties within the scope of your validated training and regulatory approval
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to all operating room safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document procedures accurately and maintain detailed surgical records

What We're Looking For

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Completion of an approved first assistant training program
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and operative techniques
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced operating room environment
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining sterile field integrity
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift as required
