About the Role
As a Patient Service Representative II in our Neurology Clinics, you'll be the welcoming face and skilled coordinator that patients rely on from their first call through their appointment day. Your work directly supports the clinical team by maintaining accurate records, managing the patient flow, and ensuring every interaction reflects CEDARS-SINAI's commitment to quality healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Greet patients with professionalism and warmth; complete registration and intake processes accurately and efficiently
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while managing calendars for multiple neurology providers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before visits; assist patients with billing and payment questions
- Pull and organize patient charts and medical records prior to appointments
- Answer patient phone calls and emails; direct inquiries appropriately and provide information about clinic services
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in all patient interactions and record management
- Input and update patient data in electronic health records with accuracy
- Coordinate with billing, insurance, and clinical staff to resolve patient issues and follow-up items
- Support clinic operations by maintaining supplies, preparing treatment areas, and assisting with administrative tasks
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Patient Service Representative or similar healthcare administrative role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfort interacting with diverse patients and healthcare teams
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical office software
- Organizational ability and attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient privacy
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and empathy
- Experience with insurance verification and medical billing practices preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
