This full-time position in our Student Support Services department places you at the center of creating a supportive school environment where every student can thrive—addressing the personal, emotional, familial, and social barriers that affect their success.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Supervisor of Special Services, you will provide comprehensive support to students, families, educators, and administrators. Your work bridges the gap between home and school, connecting students with the resources and guidance they need to overcome challenges and reach their potential. You will be a trusted advocate for student wellbeing, helping address issues ranging from family circumstances to emotional concerns to social adjustment difficulties.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students to address personal, emotional, and behavioral concerns
  • Partner with parents, guardians, teachers, and administrators to develop tailored support strategies for at-risk students
  • Assess student situations and create intervention plans that connect families with community resources and services
  • Respond to crisis situations with compassion and clinical expertise, providing immediate support when students face acute emotional distress
  • Document case notes and progress, maintaining confidential student records in compliance with school and legal requirements
  • Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, contributing your clinical perspective to special education planning
  • Collaborate with school staff to foster a positive school climate that supports student wellness
  • Attend professional development and training to stay current with best practices in school social work

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
  • Current state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker, or eligibility for licensure in your state
  • Demonstrated experience providing direct services to students and families in a school or clinical setting
  • Strong knowledge of child development, mental health, and social-emotional learning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse populations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and community partners
  • Sound clinical judgment and ethical practice, including confidentiality and professional boundaries
