About the Role
As a Graduate Design Engineer on TKDA's Roadway & Utilities group, you will support the planning and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects that serve communities throughout the Bloomington, Hennepin County area. Working alongside experienced civil engineers, you will gain hands-on experience that bridges the design studio and the construction site, helping turn concepts into projects that are cost-effective, well-managed, and built to last.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the civil design of roadway, street, and underground utility systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, plan sets, and supporting project documentation.
- Contribute to construction-phase tasks, connecting design intent with field execution.
- Collaborate across TKDA's multi-disciplined teams to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions.
- Support thoughtful risk management and value-driven decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- A genuine interest in both engineering design and the realities of construction.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
- Motivation to learn quickly and contribute within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Bloomington, Hennepin County (this is not a remote position).
