This part-time position offers the opportunity to direct live broadcasts and manage control room operations for a media company serving over 100 million people monthly across television, streaming, and digital platforms.
About the Role
As an Extra-Board Broadcast Director, you'll work on an as-needed basis directing live television programs and special broadcasts. You'll manage technical production elements in the control room, coordinate with studio crews and on-air talent, and ensure seamless execution of on-air content according to approved rundowns and timing requirements.
What You'll Do
- Direct live broadcasts, newscasts, and special programming events from the control room
- Cue and coordinate technical elements including cameras, graphics, audio, and transitions
- Manage program timing and maintain adherence to rundowns and production schedules
- Communicate effectively with producers, technical operators, and on-air talent
- Troubleshoot technical issues during live broadcasts and adapt quickly to production changes
- Maintain quality standards for all on-air content
What We're Looking For
- Experience directing live television broadcasts or proven broadcast production background
- Strong knowledge of broadcast technical systems and control room operations
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make quick decisions and adapt to changes during live production

- Flexibility to work variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
