Maintenance Engineer Salary

Meyer Jabara Hotels is hiring a full-time Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance operations at our Fort Lauderdale property in Broward County, Florida. In this leadership role, you'll oversee all mechanical systems and facilities infrastructure while directing a maintenance team and ensuring guest-quality standards are consistently met.

About the Role

As Maintenance Engineer, you'll report directly to the General Manager and manage a team of maintenance staff responsible for the hotel's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and climate-control systems. Your focus is keeping all operational systems in peak working order while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards across the property.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily maintenance operations and supervise maintenance staff to ensure all systems operate efficiently
• Manage mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure to meet guest expectations and operational requirements
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities
• Enforce safety protocols and building code compliance throughout the hotel
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend system life
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate rapid resolution
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized repairs and upgrades
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation
• Ensure a safe and secure working environment for all associates

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a maintenance engineer or chief engineer in hospitality, hotel, or large commercial property management
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure
• Leadership experience managing maintenance teams and staff
• Relevant certifications or licenses (such as EPA, electrical, or mechanical certifications)
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and building management systems
• Excellent safety awareness and commitment to compliance standards
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
