Project Architect, Luxury Markets

Join DLR Group as a Project Architect in our Overland Park office, based in Johnson County. We're seeking an experienced architect to lead distinctive design projects in the luxury sector. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to shape high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial developments from concept through completion.

About the Role

As Project Architect, you'll oversee the architectural vision and technical execution of premium market projects. Within our integrated design environment, you'll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project schedules and budgets, and ensure designs meet the refined standards our luxury clientele expects. Your role bridges creative leadership with project management, positioning you as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to junior staff.

What You'll Do

• Lead design development and coordinate architectural documentation across all project phases
• Manage consultant teams and subconsultants to ensure seamless integration of structural, MEP, and specialty systems
• Conduct client presentations and negotiations, translating vision into technical deliverables
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to maintain schedule and scope
• Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning requirements, and luxury market standards
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to firm design culture and best practices
• Specify premium materials, finishes, and systems appropriate for high-end market segments

What We're Looking For

• Professional architecture license (required)
• Substantial professional experience managing projects in luxury residential, hospitality, or high-end commercial sectors
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing client relationships
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and standard design software
• Deep knowledge of high-end materials, building systems, and luxury market design expectations
• Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
