In this full-time position, you'll play a critical role in providing specialized environmental and waste management services that protect our clients and communities while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
About the Role
As an Environmental Specialist I in Louisville, you'll support the comprehensive lifecycle of hazardous and regulated materials—from initial assessment through final disposal. This position is essential to ensuring that every client interaction meets rigorous environmental protection standards and federal compliance requirements.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and complete all required environmental documentation, manifests, and regulatory filings
- Package hazardous and regulated materials safely and in compliance with DOT and EPA standards
- Respond promptly to spill incidents and environmental emergencies with appropriate containment and remediation
- Apply proper labeling, classification, and placarding to all regulated materials
- Execute efficient loading and unloading operations while maintaining safety protocols
- Coordinate transportation logistics with carriers and disposal facilities
- Conduct material sampling, analysis, and profiling to support proper classification and disposal pathways
- Maintain detailed records and ensure all work adheres to state and federal environmental regulations
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations, including EPA and DOT requirements
- Experience or strong familiarity with hazardous waste handling and transportation
- Attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance and safety
- Physical ability to perform loading, unloading, and field work in various conditions
- Reliable transportation and ability to work the required schedule in the Louisville area
- Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and team members
