Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Yahoo Search

Yahoo is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Search team in the United States. In this full-time position, you'll build and enhance the systems powering Yahoo Search, one of the web's most widely-used search platforms serving hundreds of millions of users globally.

About the Role

You'll work across the entire technology stack—designing backend services, optimizing databases, building frontend experiences, and solving complex infrastructure challenges. Collaborating with product, infrastructure, and design teams, you'll directly impact the search experience for our global audience.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs that process massive query volumes and data at scale
• Develop frontend applications and user-facing interfaces that deliver search functionality reliably to millions of concurrent users
• Architect solutions across the full stack to meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements
• Identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations that improve response times and system efficiency
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices across the team
• Work cross-functionally to translate product requirements into robust technical implementations

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software engineering or related roles
• Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages and modern web development frameworks
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, database architecture, and scalability principles
• Proven expertise in backend development, APIs, and large-scale system design
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
