Principal Scientist III – Synthetic Chemist – FSP

Parexel is seeking a Principal Scientist III – Synthetic Chemist (FSP) to join our team in Glendale, Denver, where you will support a client‑based project in Rahway, New Jersey.

About the Role

As a full‑time Parexel FSP employee, you will be embedded onsite at a client facility, contributing to advanced process chemistry initiatives that drive drug development programs. What You'll Do

• Design and execute synthetic routes for complex small‑molecule intermediates.
• Optimize reaction conditions to improve yield, purity, and scalability.
• Prepare detailed experimental records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with SOPs.
• Mentor junior scientists and share best practices in synthetic methodology.

What We're Looking For

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Proven expertise in multi‑step synthesis, purification, and characterization of pharmaceutical compounds.
• Strong familiarity with modern analytical techniques (NMR, LC‑MS, HPLC).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of delivering results on schedule.
• Experience with FSP or contractor models is a plus.
