About the Role

The Trauma Med Surg Registered Nurse works within a fast‑paced unit that handles both elective surgical admissions and acute trauma cases. You will partner with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure safe, evidence‑based care while upholding the hospital’s commitment to quality and patient safety.

What You'll Do

• Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, and neurological status for med‑surg and trauma populations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor postoperative and trauma patients for complications, intervening promptly when changes occur.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, postoperative care, wound management, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety huddles, and ongoing professional development activities.

What We're Looking For

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of South Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or equivalent trauma certification is a plus.
• Minimum of one year of recent experience in a medical‑surgical, step‑down, or trauma setting.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high‑acuity environment.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care, teamwork, and continuous learning.
