RN Progressive Care

RN Progressive Care position at HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Hilton Head, Beaufort County, full‑time.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care unit, you will provide focused monitoring and care for patients who require a higher level of observation than general floor nursing but do not need intensive care. You will work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure timely interventions and optimal patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and neurological status, and pain levels.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, recognizing and responding to early signs of clinical deterioration.
• Coordinate care plans with interdisciplinary team members, including case managers, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, medication regimens, and post‑discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold evidence‑based practice standards.
• Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and their loved ones during stressful health events.

What We're Looking For

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license issued by the State of South Carolina.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with commitment to pursue BSN.
• Minimum of one year of recent experience in progressive care, telemetry, step‑down, or a comparable acute care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
