Harbor Group Management is hiring a Director of Resident Screening & Risk Strategy to lead tenant evaluation and risk management initiatives across our multifamily portfolio. About the Role

You'll establish and oversee comprehensive resident screening protocols for our multifamily properties, developing evidence-based risk assessment frameworks that balance community safety with fair access to housing. This role reports to senior leadership and directly influences how we evaluate and support residents across our portfolio.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement resident screening programs aligned with company strategy, legal requirements, and fair housing standards
  • Develop risk assessment methodologies and evaluation criteria for tenant selection
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local fair housing laws and regulations
  • Lead and mentor the screening and risk operations team
  • Partner with property management teams to refine screening procedures and best practices
  • Analyze resident data and screening outcomes to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Establish policies governing background checks, credit reviews, rental history verification, and other screening components
  • Conduct training and education for property staff on screening compliance and best practices

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in resident screening, risk management, tenant evaluation, or multifamily operations
  • Thorough knowledge of fair housing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proven success developing and executing risk management strategies
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Solid analytical skills with experience interpreting data and operational metrics
  • Ability to design inclusive practices while managing organizational risk
  • Strong communication skills to influence and align diverse stakeholders
  • Multifamily real estate industry background strongly preferred
