Build the skills for this role

Prioritize: newscast rundown craft, live-breaking decision speed, writing/voicing standards, ENPS/iNEWS-style systems, and people leadership under AM deadlines. No cert list or costs provided in data.

  • Walk a sample AM rundown and how you’d re-order for a major overnight story.
  • Explain collaboration with assignment desk, anchors, and control room on a live miss.
  • Ask how Sinclair’s Portland station structures EP autonomy and multi-platform packages.

Strong fit if you thrive on pre-dawn live news ownership inside a large station group (SBGI). Prefer empty claims over invented culture scores—judge fit from your AM EP experience and Portland market interest.
