Merck seeks a Cardiovascular Disease Specialist to serve the South Texas and New Mexico district from our Washington, D.C. location. In this full-time field position, you will be the primary clinical and commercial resource for healthcare systems, providers, and managed care partners in your territory, driving adoption of evidence-based cardiovascular solutions that improve patient outcomes.

About the Role

As the Cardiovascular Disease Specialist for this district, you represent Merck's commitment to advancing cardiology care. You'll combine deep clinical expertise with business acumen to support healthcare customers and drive meaningful engagement with our cardiovascular portfolio. Working alongside Account Executives, Integrated Delivery System leaders, and field colleagues, you'll deliver coordinated strategies that address customer needs and expand market adoption.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers, building strategic relationships that position Merck as a trusted partner
  • Provide clinical insights and evidence-based cardiovascular information to support provider and healthcare system decision-making
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and IDS leaders to align customer initiatives with territory strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with field colleagues to deliver integrated, seamless customer solutions
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of cardiovascular disease management, treatment protocols, and clinical evidence
  • Identify customer opportunities and support adoption of Merck's cardiology solutions
  • Travel throughout your assigned territory to support customer engagement

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced degree in a clinical or life sciences discipline (PharmD, MD, MS, or equivalent)
  • Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular disease management and treatment standards
  • Proven ability to build strong professional relationships with healthcare providers and institutional stakeholders
  • Experience in field-based, medical affairs, or customer-facing healthcare roles
  • Strong communication and presentation capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams
