Sr. UX Designer, Design Systems, Amazon Leo

Amazon is hiring a Senior UX Designer specializing in Design Systems for Amazon Leo, based in Redmond, Washington. In this full-time role, you'll lead the design system strategy and execution for the Leo satellite connectivity platform, shaping the user experience across applications and interfaces that connect millions of people to reliable broadband.

About the Role

As Senior UX Designer for Design Systems, you'll own the creation and evolution of a comprehensive design system that serves multiple product teams building Leo's consumer and enterprise applications. You'll collaborate across engineering, product, and design to establish patterns, components, and guidelines that enable teams to build consistently, ship faster, and deliver exceptional user experiences. This is a strategic design leadership position requiring both hands-on design expertise and the ability to influence organizational practices at scale.

What You'll Do

• Design and document reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that align with Leo's product vision and technical constraints
• Establish design system governance, including component documentation, versioning, and maintenance workflows
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, validate designs, and ensure adoption across Leo's product portfolio
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design system effectiveness with actual users
• Create and maintain design system assets in Figma, design documentation, and code libraries
• Mentor designers and provide design guidance to distributed teams implementing the system
• Evaluate emerging design tools and technologies to improve the design-to-code workflow

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of UX design experience, with at least 3 years leading or significantly contributing to design systems at scale
• Proven ability to design systems that serve multiple teams and use cases
• Deep expertise in component-based design thinking and modern design tools (Figma preferred)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
• Portfolio demonstrating design system work, design thinking, and measurable impact
• Experience working on hardware connectivity, telecommunications, or satellite technology is a plus
