About the Role
As an Insurance Sales Agent with Virginia Farm Bureau, you'll be the trusted advisor helping families and businesses in Charlottesville and the surrounding Albemarle County area protect what matters most. Working from our Charlottesville office and reporting to the Agency Manager, you'll develop and maintain a strong client base while providing personalized insurance solutions.
What You'll Do
- Conduct client consultations to understand insurance needs for auto, home, life, and commercial coverage
- Prepare and present customized insurance proposals and coverage recommendations
- Process new applications and policy changes with accuracy and attention to detail
- Build and maintain a portfolio of satisfied clients in the Charlottesville and Albemarle County region
- Explain coverage options, benefits, and terms in clear, accessible language
- Stay current with Virginia insurance regulations and Virginia Farm Bureau's product offerings
- Exceed sales targets and contribute to office growth and client retention goals
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the policy lifecycle
What We're Looking For

Compensation and Growth
This full-time exempt position offers a base salary of $37,000 to $52,000 annually, with first-year total compensation reaching $52,000 to $125,000. As you build your client base in the Charlottesville area, your earning potential continues to grow.
