Platform Aerospace is seeking a UAS Maintenance Technician III for a full-time position in Blackstone, Nottoway County, Virginia. This is a hands-on, mission-critical role within Field Operations, working directly with unmanned aerial systems and related equipment.
About the Role
As a UAS Maintenance Technician III, you'll perform complex installation, maintenance, and repair work on unmanned aircraft systems and their associated components. Working under indirect supervision, you'll ensure all systems meet operational and safety standards. This non-exempt position reports to the Field Operations Manager and plays a vital part in keeping our fleet mission-ready.
What You'll Do
- Install, inspect, and maintain UAS aircraft and related equipment to exacting technical standards
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in unmanned systems, mechanical components, and avionics
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on field-deployed aircraft systems
- Document maintenance activities and equipment status in accordance with operational procedures
- Collaborate with Field Operations leadership to prioritize work and meet mission timelines
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing aircraft maintenance
What We're Looking For
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET-level security clearance (required for this role)
- Technical expertise in unmanned systems maintenance and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with aircraft maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to precise workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
- Reliable transportation to the Blackstone, Virginia location
