About this role & career path
Claim examiner work in GL and product liability builds skills in coverage analysis, investigation, negotiation, and multi-jurisdiction practice—useful for senior examiner, liability specialist, or claims leadership paths in third-party administration and insurance.
Build the skills for this role
Focus on liability investigation, policy interpretation, reserve setting, and clear claim documentation. Strengthen multi-state awareness and any required adjuster licensing for hybrid work. Practice product-defect and premises-style fact patterns and professional written communications with insureds, counsel, and claimants.
Be ready to walk through a GL or product liability claim from first notice through settlement: coverage questions, investigation steps, liability analysis, reserve rationale, and negotiation approach. Expect scenarios on multi-state issues, licensing, and working hybrid with Sedgwick stakeholders.
Strong fit if you have (or can obtain) required licensing, handle multi-state GL/product liability files, and prefer hybrid rather than fully remote work in the Montgomery County, NC area.
