About the Role
As an HS Art Teacher/Coach, you'll hold a dual leadership role central to our school community. You'll teach high school art, fostering creativity and technical skill development, while coaching students in athletic programs that build character, discipline, and teamwork. This position demands someone who can excel in both spaces—cultivating artistic expression in the classroom and athletic excellence on the field or court.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver engaging art curriculum aligned with state and district standards
- Instruct students in artistic techniques, media, and creative problem-solving
- Assess student progress in art and provide constructive feedback
- Organize and lead athletic practices, training sessions, and competitions
- Mentor student athletes on skill development, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Collaborate with other teachers to support student success across disciplines
- Maintain safe, organized learning and practice environments
- Support student achievement and well-being both inside and outside the classroom
What We're Looking For
- Valid Texas teaching certification in art education or related field
- Coaching certification or willingness to obtain it
- Strong knowledge of high school art curriculum and athletic program standards
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Passion for developing young artists and athletes
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Must pass a fingerprint-based background check
