Position Summary
In this continuing education instructor position, you'll develop and deliver courses that equip working professionals and community members with practical skills and knowledge. You'll partner with our continuing education team to shape engaging learning experiences that drive student success and meet regional workforce needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver continuing education course content that meets defined learning outcomes
- Create a welcoming classroom atmosphere that engages diverse adult learners
- Evaluate student performance through exams, projects, participation, and other assessments
- Record grades, attendance, and progress documentation accurately and on schedule
- Offer meaningful feedback to help students reach their course objectives
- Work with the continuing education department to enhance course quality and teaching methods
- Recognize and respond to different learning preferences among your students
- Remain informed about current trends and best practices in your subject area
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in your subject area through professional background or relevant education
- Strong ability to explain ideas and concepts to adult audiences
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management capabilities
- Prior classroom instruction or training experience preferred
- Commitment to building an accessible, inclusive learning environment
- Basic technology skills and familiarity with learning management platforms
- Availability to teach courses that may include evening and weekend sessions
