Commonpoint Queens is seeking a creative and motivated Film Team Member to join our Youth Opportunity Hub in Jamaica, NY, where storytelling becomes a tool for community impact and youth development.
About the Role
As a Film Team Member at Commonpoint Queens, you will help bring local stories to life through video and film production. Based at our Youth Opportunity Hub in Jamaica, NY, this seasonal, on-site position sits within the HSCS department and reports directly to the Film Team Supervisor. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone eager to build hands-on production experience while contributing to programs that uplift young people across Queens.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all stages of film and video production, from pre-production planning through final editing.
- Collaborate with team members and youth participants to capture engaging, high-quality footage.
- Assist with operating cameras, lighting, audio gear, and other production equipment.
- Contribute creative ideas for content, scripting, and visual storytelling.
- Help organize, label, and manage media files and project assets.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and inclusive environment on set.
Qualifications
- Genuine interest in film, video production, and digital media.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from the Film Team Supervisor.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially when working alongside youth.
- Reliability, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Availability to work on-site at the Youth Opportunity Hub in Jamaica, NY for the duration of this seasonal role.
