LOA Teacher – Science 2026-27 School Year 1st Semester

Lockport Township High School District 205 is hiring a full-time Science Teacher for a leave of absence position covering the first semester of the 2026-27 school year. This role is based at our East Campus in Adak, Aleutians East, with an August 2026 start date.

About the Role

We're recruiting a certified educator to lead high school science instruction during the first semester. This temporary assignment is an opportunity to directly impact student learning and support our science department during a transition period.

What You'll Do

• Teach standards-aligned science curriculum to high school students
• Design and deliver engaging lessons that develop critical thinking and scientific inquiry skills
• Administer assessments to monitor student progress and understanding
• Maintain detailed records of student achievement and communicate with families
• Collaborate with science department colleagues on curriculum alignment and professional growth
• Create a classroom culture that supports academic achievement and student responsibility
• Participate in school initiatives and contribute to a positive learning environment
