T-7A MTS EVM Project Controls Manager with Security Clearance

Akima is seeking a T-7A MTS EVM Project Controls Manager with Security Clearance in Huntsville, Madison County. This is a full-time position for a strategic leader who will oversee all project controls operations within this critical defense program.

About the Role

As the primary controls authority for the T-7A MTS program, you will direct governance, execution, and compliance activities across cost management, scheduling, and the Earned Value Management System (EVMS). You are responsible for ensuring the program operates within contract requirements and maintains strict adherence to ANSI/EIA-748 standards. Your work will synthesize cost performance, schedule performance, and technical metrics to deliver accurate program forecasts and actionable insights for leadership.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage all project controls functions, establishing policies, processes, and governance frameworks
• Oversee EVMS implementation and reporting to ensure compliance with ANSI/EIA-748 baseline standards
• Direct cost and schedule analysis, variance tracking, and corrective action planning across program phases
• Integrate technical performance indicators with cost and schedule data to assess true program health
• Develop forecasts and trend analyses to inform program management decisions and stakeholder reporting
• Manage the controls team, including analysts and coordinators supporting the broader program organization
• Ensure all documentation, baselines, and change controls maintain audit readiness for government oversight

What We're Looking For

• Active or clearable Secret/Top Secret security clearance (or eligibility for upgrade)
• Minimum 10+ years of program controls, project management, or EVMS experience in aerospace or defense
• Demonstrated expertise with EVMS, cost accounting, and schedule management methodologies
• Deep knowledge of ANSI/EIA-748 standards and earned value best practices
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate complex performance data to executives and government partners
• Experience with defense contracts, government compliance requirements, and DoD reporting standards
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with project controls tools and software
