Locum Physician (MD/DO) – Family Practice in Carrollton, KY

CompHealth is seeking a dedicated locum physician for a full-time family practice opportunity in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky. This is an excellent assignment for an MD or DO looking to serve a community-based patient population while maintaining the flexibility of locum work.

About the Role

This locum family physician position offers the chance to manage a diverse patient panel in an established practice setting in Carrollton, KY. You'll work with a supportive healthcare team to deliver comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan, drawing on your training in internal medicine, preventive health, and acute care management. The position is full-time, with a start date available as soon as possible.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and treat patients for acute illnesses, chronic disease management, and preventive care
• Perform routine physical examinations and administer preventive health screenings
• Manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia
• Coordinate patient care with specialists and other healthcare providers
• Maintain detailed, accurate medical records and documentation
• Collaborate with nursing staff and administrative personnel to ensure efficient clinic operations
• Educate patients on wellness, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO degree with valid license to practice in Kentucky
• Current malpractice insurance or eligibility for CompHealth coverage
• Strong clinical foundation in family medicine or internal medicine
• Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
• Ability to adapt to a new clinical environment and work collaboratively
• Active DEA registration
