Director – AI Engineering

Teradata is looking for a Director of AI Engineering to lead the development and strategic expansion of artificial intelligence capabilities across our enterprise platform. This full-time leadership role is based in Penbrook, Dauphin County, and offers an opportunity to guide the technical vision and execution of AI systems that power enterprise intelligence for thousands of organizations worldwide.

About the Role

You will oversee all aspects of AI engineering at Teradata, from system architecture and team leadership to production deployment and customer impact. Working closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams, you will define the roadmap for how our platform activates data and knowledge to deliver measurable business value. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines strategic oversight with deep technical involvement.

What You'll Do

• Build and lead a high-performing team of AI and machine learning engineers, establishing standards for technical excellence and innovation
• Design scalable architectures for AI systems that integrate data, knowledge, and business context at enterprise scale
• Develop the AI engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning with broader company priorities and customer needs
• Oversee the full lifecycle of AI models—from research and development through validation, deployment, and ongoing optimization
• Drive adoption of best practices for responsible AI, model governance, and production reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into technical capabilities

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technical fields
• 5+ years leading engineering teams in fast-paced, high-impact environments
• Expert-level knowledge of modern machine learning systems, including model training, evaluation, and deployment
• Track record building or scaling AI capabilities within enterprise platforms
• Strong communication skills across technical teams and business stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent professional expertise
