Hartford Hospital in New Britain, Hartford County is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) to join our neurosurgery unit at 80 Seymour Street. About the Role

As a registered nurse or graduate nurse in neurosurgery, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients experiencing neurological conditions, spinal disorders, and post-operative recovery. You'll work alongside experienced neurosurgical teams in a teaching hospital environment that prioritizes both patient outcomes and nursing professional development.

What You'll Do

• Deliver direct bedside nursing care to neurosurgical patients, including pre-operative and post-operative monitoring
• Perform comprehensive assessments of neurological status and document clinical findings
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure patient safety protocols
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, procedures, and recovery expectations
• Respond promptly to patient needs and advocate for patient rights and dignified care
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain one; graduates holding an active GN license are welcome and encouraged to apply
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
