About the Role
As a travel nurse specializing in perioperative care, you'll provide essential clinical support in fast-paced surgical environments. This position combines PreOp assessment and preparation with PACU recovery monitoring, requiring strong clinical judgment, patient advocacy, and the ability to work independently within a dynamic healthcare team.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures
- Monitor and manage vital signs throughout the perioperative period
- Administer medications and support anesthesia providers during induction and recovery
- Manage airway support and breathing interventions for post-operative patients
- Assess and address post-operative pain, nausea, and other recovery complications
- Educate patients and families about perioperative care and expected recovery outcomes
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation and ensure compliance with facility protocols
- Coordinate care with surgical teams, anesthesiology, and post-operative units
