Patient Access Specialist / Call Center / Full or Part-Time

Penn Medicine Becker ENT & Allergy is seeking a part-time Patient Access Specialist to join our call center team at multiple locations throughout Central and South Jersey. As a fast-growing multi-specialty medical practice, we're building a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional patient experiences from first contact.

About the Role

You'll serve as the primary point of contact for patients calling our practice. In this part-time position, you'll manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and handle patient inquiries with professionalism and care. Your work directly supports our ability to deliver specialized care in otolaryngology, allergy, audiology, facial plastic surgery, and related services.

What You'll Do

• Answer and route incoming patient calls efficiently and courteously
• Schedule new patient appointments and manage changes or cancellations
• Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary registration data
• Process patient admissions and maintain accurate records within our system
• Respond to patient inquiries about services, policies, and scheduling options
• Coordinate with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow through the practice
• Demonstrate knowledge of our specialty services and physician team

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Prior experience in customer service, call centers, or healthcare settings
• Excellent verbal communication skills and professional phone presence
• Strong organizational ability and comfort working in a busy medical environment
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn practice management software
• Understanding of patient privacy and commitment to HIPAA compliance
• Friendly, professional attitude and genuine interest in patient care
