Registered Nurse RN Medical Surgical Part Time Nights Ottawa

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical services, you will be at the heart of patient care, delivering evidence-based nursing practice to adults recovering from surgical procedures and managing complex medical conditions. Working within a supportive clinical team, you'll coordinate patient care, monitor vital functions, administer treatments, and provide education to patients and families during their hospital stay.

What You'll Do

• Assess, monitor, and document patient responses to treatment and care interventions
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, wound management, and personal hygiene support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate changes in patient status to physicians and clinical leadership
• Ensure patient safety and infection control protocols are followed consistently

What We're Looking For

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional nursing standards
• Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Current BLS certification required
