Quest Diagnostics is seeking a detail-driven Medical Laboratory Scientist II - Chemistry to join its hospital-based laboratory team at JFK in Edison, NJ, serving the Menlo Park, Middlesex County area. About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II focused on Chemistry, you will perform and interpret clinical chemistry testing within a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment. This is an on-site, full-time position based at the JFK hospital site, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with rotational weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical chemistry analyses on patient specimens with precision and consistency.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain the laboratory instrumentation used in chemistry testing.
  • Review and verify results, confirming accuracy before they are reported.
  • Adhere to established quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot analytical and instrument issues as they occur.
  • Support prompt result turnaround to aid clinical decision-making across weekday and rotational weekend shifts.

Qualifications

  • Training and credentials as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, with clinical chemistry experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, quality control practices, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to perform reliably in a hospital laboratory setting.
  • Availability for the scheduled early-morning shift and participation in rotational weekend coverage.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $32.00 to $50.73 per hour. Final offers are determined by a variety of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
