About the Role

As the Clinical Development Lab Supervisor, you will guide a team responsible for every stage of research specimen management within a fast-paced clinical development laboratory. This is a Monday-to-Friday position with standard daytime hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), based entirely on-site in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team handling the full lifecycle of research specimens.
• Manage specimen intake and perform thorough quality control assessments.
• Direct preanalytical processing using both manual techniques and automated systems.
• Oversee specimen storage and coordinate long-term biobanking operations.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Verify and document staff competencies to uphold laboratory standards.
• Organize the safe and compliant shipping of specimens.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a clinical, research, or development laboratory environment.
• Working knowledge of specimen handling, preanalytical processing, and quality control practices.
• Familiarity with biobanking, storage protocols, and specimen shipping requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to author and apply Standard Operating Procedures.
• Proven leadership skills with the capacity to train, mentor, and supervise laboratory staff.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and accuracy.
