Good Samaritan is hiring a full-time Director of Nursing (RN) at its GSS SD Miller Prairie Center facility in Miller, Hughes County, South Dakota — a mission-driven long-term care community with more than a century of service to older adults.

About the Role

As Director of Nursing, you will hold ultimate clinical accountability for resident care across the facility, leading the nursing department with a hands-on approach that upholds Good Samaritan's commitment to compassionate, quality-centered care in a Christian environment. This position qualifies for a $25,000 sign-on bonus.

What You'll Do

  • Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
  • Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies, procedures, and care standards in compliance with state and federal long-term care regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and administrative leadership on interdisciplinary care planning
  • Monitor quality indicators and lead performance improvement initiatives to achieve and maintain survey readiness
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and nursing department budgets
  • Serve as a key resource for families and residents on clinical matters and care concerns

What We're Looking For

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in South Dakota (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Substantial clinical leadership experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute setting
  • Working knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, and HIPAA compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to build, retain, and develop a high-performing nursing team
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Alignment with Good Samaritan's mission of service and person-centered care values
