Blue Origin is hiring experienced Manufacturing Engineers (Levels II, III, and Senior) across multiple shifts to support tank welding on its Lunar program in the United States. If you want to help build the reusable spaceflight hardware that will carry people to the Moon, this is your launch point.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer II, III, or Sr supporting Lunar tank welding, you'll work hands-on with the production processes behind large-scale propellant tank structures. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the US, with openings available on multiple shifts so the team can keep manufacturing moving around the clock. You'll join a culture built on safety, teamwork, and inclusion as Blue Origin advances reusable, dependable, and affordable space systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and document welding and manufacturing processes for Lunar propellant tank hardware.
- Partner with production technicians, quality, and design teams to translate engineering requirements into reliable, repeatable builds.
- Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues on the shop floor and drive corrective actions.
- Champion safe work practices and continuous improvement across your assigned shift.
- Support tooling, fixturing, and procedure updates that improve yield, quality, and throughput.
Qualifications
- Background in manufacturing, mechanical, materials, or a related engineering discipline.
- Hands-on experience with welding processes and metal fabrication, ideally for structural or pressure-bearing assemblies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working directly in a production environment.
- Willingness to work one of several available shifts at the US facility.
- Experience scaled to the level applied for, from Engineer II through Senior.
About Blue Origin

Build the skills for this role
Prioritize: weld process engineering (GTAW/GMAW or equivalent for tanks), blueprint/GD&T, MRB/nonconformance, lean/production systems, and working with multi-shift ops. No certification resources were provided in the data set.
- Walk a tank or pressure-vessel weld process you owned end-to-end (params, fixtures, NDE, yield).
- Explain how you stabilized a multi-shift process or closed a flight-hardware nonconformance.
- Be ready on lunar/flight-hardware quality rigor and cross-functional handoffs with welding, quality, and manufacturing.
Strong fit if you are a hands-on manufacturing engineer with aerospace or heavy weld fabrication experience and want multi-shift, on-site tank production for Blue Origin’s lunar hardware—not remote office R&D.
