About the Role

As an on-call Wildlife Biologist, you'll provide essential field expertise for a variety of environmental consulting assignments throughout the San Diego region and surrounding areas. Your work directly supports ICF's mission to deliver rigorous, professional biological services that balance ecological conservation with project timelines and regulatory compliance. This flexible position allows you to contribute to meaningful environmental work while maintaining scheduling flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preconstruction biological field surveys to identify habitat and species presence
• Perform avian species identification and execute comprehensive nest surveys
• Support construction compliance monitoring to ensure project adherence to environmental regulations
• Assist with general and focused biological field surveys across diverse habitat types
• Write, review, and contribute to biological survey reports and environmental documentation
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in biology, wildlife biology, ecology, or related field
• Demonstrated experience with field survey methods and wildlife identification
• Knowledge of California wildlife species and regional habitats
• Strong observational and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in outdoor environments
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance protocols
