About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential IT consulting firm based in Nuremberg that is seeking a working student to support an exciting research and development project in the smart labeling space. This role offers hands-on experience with machine learning prototypes and computer vision technologies.

Location: Nuremberg, Germany (hybrid work model available)
Employment Type: Working Student Position (Werkstudent)
Language Requirement: German proficiency at B2 level or higher required

Responsibilities

  • Further develop a prototype demonstrating smart labeling use cases
  • Build an intuitive web interface and corresponding backend infrastructure
  • Connect existing training and data pipelines to the prototype system
  • Integrate object detection and image segmentation methods into the application
  • Collaborate with the development team to refine functionality and user experience

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable degree program
  • Strong knowledge of Python and PyTorch with the ability to navigate and understand existing codebases
  • Practical experience with machine learning/deep learning, data pipelines, and image processing
  • Familiarity with tools such as BigQuery, GCS, Optuna, AutoML, OpenCV, PIL, Grounding-DINO, or COCO is a plus
  • Some experience with REST APIs and web UI development is advantageous
  • Independent, structured working style with enthusiasm for experimentation and problem-solving
  • Ability to communicate effectively in German (minimum B2 level) with team members and stakeholders
