Wellsite Geologist/Mudlogger

Columbine Corporation is hiring a Wellsite Geologist/Mudlogger at our operations in Yukon, Canadian County. This full-time position offers a chance to launch or advance a hands-on geological career with a respected leader in subsurface well services since 1980.

The Opportunity

Work directly on active drilling operations where geology meets real-time engineering decisions. As a Wellsite Geologist/Mudlogger, you'll be embedded in one of the oil and gas industry's most critical data-gathering roles—interpreting rock samples, analyzing drilling cuttings, and tracking subsurface formations in real time. This hands-on position is ideal for geologists who prefer field-based work and want to build practical expertise in well site operations, drilling geology, and formation analysis. Columbine Corporation's decades of experience in mud logging means you'll train within proven systems and work alongside seasoned professionals.

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze drill cuttings and core samples to identify rock types, lithology, and formation characteristics
• Maintain detailed well logs and mudlog reports throughout drilling operations
• Track drilling parameters, wellbore conditions, and hydrocarbon shows in real time
• Communicate findings with drilling engineers, operators, and geology teams to support operational decisions
• Conduct sample examinations using visual and microscopic techniques
• Maintain field equipment and ensure accurate data documentation and quality control

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in geology or related earth science discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work extended or rotating shifts in a field environment
• Willingness to learn mud logging techniques and drilling operations fundamentals
• Reliable transportation and availability for onsite well locations
