About the Role

As our Volunteer Services Coordinator, you'll build and manage a dynamic volunteer program that strengthens patient experiences and extends our care capacity. Working Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, you'll serve as the central hub connecting community volunteers with clinical and operational teams, ensuring volunteers are placed, supported, and engaged in roles where they make the greatest impact.

What You'll Do

• Identify qualified candidates, manage the volunteer application and screening process, and conduct interviews to match individual strengths with program needs
• Deliver comprehensive orientation and ongoing training to prepare volunteers for their roles within SSM Health's continuum of care settings
• Build and maintain volunteer schedules, communicate shift assignments, and ensure consistent staffing across departments
• Cultivate relationships between volunteers and clinical staff, addressing questions and resolving scheduling conflicts as they arise
• Track volunteer hours, recognize contributions, and foster a culture of appreciation and belonging
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify volunteer opportunities aligned with patient care priorities

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple schedules and priorities
