Johns Hopkins University is hiring a full-time Utility Energy Manager to lead campus energy strategy and utility operations at its Druid, Baltimore location within Facilities & Real Estate.

About the Role

As the Utility Energy Manager at Johns Hopkins University, you will direct the Energy Team and hold portfolio-level responsibility for the energy and utility systems supporting the Homewood Campus in Baltimore. This staff position centers on shaping and running a comprehensive energy program that balances reliable performance, cost efficiency, and the university's sustainability commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Energy Team while providing oversight across the full portfolio of campus energy and utility systems.
• Build out and execute the energy management program for the Homewood Campus.
• Improve energy performance and control operating costs across university facilities.
• Manage the procurement of utilities and oversee accurate, timely utility payments.
• Maintain compliance with applicable energy regulations and sustainability mandates.
• Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to advance shared energy and facilities goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing energy or utility systems, ideally across a multi-building or campus portfolio.
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding a technical team toward measurable energy outcomes.
• Working knowledge of utility procurement, billing oversight, and energy cost optimization.
• Familiarity with energy regulations and sustainability compliance requirements.
• Strong collaboration skills for working effectively with cross-functional partners.
